I finally got my camera working tonight and thought it worth noting down some things that become clear to me during the eventual successful setup of my camera which might help other users setting up. Navigate to Device Management, and then click on the Show Online Devices button. Users of the Windows version of iVMS 4200 will find it very familiar. Once you've installed iVMS 4200, you'll be greeted with the below. We will keep the resource updated with future releases however, and it's highly unlikely that Hikvision would remove such key functionality in future updates so you shouldn't have to worry if the version number is different to what is mentioned in this guide. You'll need this installed to proceed further.ĭo keep in mind that whilst we've not encountered any bugs or issues, it is still a beta version and there might be a couple we're unaware of. We've had a chance to test and play with it on a Mac we have in the office, and it is currently the only version of iVMS that allows you to activate the cameras which, as previously mentioned, now come inactive. We've recently uploaded a beta version of iVMS 4200 for Mac, V1.02.02.02, in the Resources section of our website linked above. The process is fairly straightforward and is covered below. Thankfully, starting from iVMS 4200 V1.02.02.02 (which you can grab from the Resources section of our Forum) this is now possible, and Mac users will be able to activate, configure and view their cameras without requiring a Windows PC at all. This wasn't possible on current versions of the Mac version of iVMS 4200. This problem was then further exacerbated by Hikvision's security firmware update, V5.3.0, which necessitated users activate their cameras before being able to configure or indeed access them at all. In the past, this has often been a problem for Mac users who either can't setup or view their cameras without a Windows PC which they might not have access to. Many manufacturers limit their camera's plugins to only work with Internet Explorer, and video management software is often not developed for or compatible with Mac OS. Typically, support for surveillance cameras on a Mac is quite limited. I guess someting that doubles that mark should be enough. How to Activate and View a Hikvision Camera on a Mac GPU Benchmark (Passmark) for intel HD 4600 is 710. If not pasive, with minimal fan, able to work 24/7 with not much heat and power consumption. What I am looking for is sharing that load with a small and efficient SFF GPU card. In our test PC (i5 with onboard intel HD 4600) we can preview 48 streams with aceptable performance in FPS, at the cost of windows 7 not being responsive. Besides you need to consider the network bandwidth and a long term stability! That's the reason why we limit to 64 cameras max." ".Due to the PC performance limitation I'm afraid it's very difficult to achieve a lot of cameras Live View in one PC/Monitor even using a i7 CPU for instance. Even if you choose Secondary Monitor option, it splits in 32 + 32.ġ00% usage Processor i7 9 Hikvision IP cams Incorrect, but tanks for your reply! Look.Īs stated in this thread, iVMS software limits Live View to 64 channels. What is your advice? AMD, Nvidia…? Model? We are looking for a small form factor GPU, an efficient h264 decoder. WE KNOW, CAPABLE GPU IS NEEDED, BUT WHICH ONE? We have an i5 with onboard Intel 4600, and with 48 live streams, CPU is at full load (100%). In iVMS documentation, minimal requirements are Pentium IV with 1gb RAM, GPU Radeon X700 with 256 VRAM.Ĭomparing this specs with our working PC, it seems to be outdated. So the load will be shared between four (4) PCs, each one with output to a monitor. I am aware of the max 64 channels live preview limitation.Īs security office wants to see all cameras at the time, we think about 4 big monitors, acting like a “videowall”. We planned to end with 16 Hikvision DVRs delivering 256 videostreams (more or less). Today, it is made of some Hikvision DVRs (DVR DS7316 HQHI-SH) and legacy ones that we want to renew. Hi everyone! I need some help to find out the best hardware configuration for our internal Hikvision video survillance system.
